Careers in Economics

Majors in Economics in the College of Science and the College of Business have a wide range of employment opportunities due to the analytical thinking and broad understanding of organizations gained from earning a degree in Economics.

 

Students that earn a degree from the College of Science have a wide range of employment opportunities. These include positions with the departments and branches of the Federal Government and government contractors, International Organizations (U.N., World Bank, WTO), military and national security, medical field and research, and the legal system. Students with a degree in Economics from the College of Science can also continue their education in graduate programs in Economics, law, and any program except an MBA program.

 

Students that earn a degree from the College of Business also have a wide range of employment opportunites. These include many analytical positions within corporations, especially those in banking and finance. Students with a degree in Economics from the College of Business can also continue their education in MBA programs.
